Prohibitory Sign Test

The No Stopping sign means that drivers are not allowed to stop their vehicle at all, not even briefly, for any reason—unless directed by a police officer or in an absolute emergency. This rule helps prevent traffic congestion and ensures clear passage, especially in high-risk or high-speed zones like tunnels, bridges, or intersections.

The 3.5M sign is a height restriction, meaning vehicles taller than 3.5 metres are not allowed to pass under the structure ahead—usually a low bridge or tunnel. This helps prevent collisions with overhead structures.

The No Entry for Tractors sign means that tractors and other agricultural vehicles are prohibited from entering or using the road beyond this sign. It's usually placed where such vehicles could cause danger or obstruction.

The No Entry for Hand Carts sign indicates that hand carts (typically pushed or pulled manually) are not allowed beyond this point. It helps to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety in areas not suitable for such carts, like highways or busy intersections.

This sign means no vehicle is allowed to overtake another on the stretch of road ahead — regardless of the vehicle type. It’s usually placed in dangerous or limited-visibility areas such as bends, hills, or near pedestrian crossings to reduce collision risks. It applies to all vehicles, not just heavy ones.

This sign instructs all drivers to stop when directed by police. It is commonly used at checkpoints or during controlled traffic situations and must be obeyed at all times.

This sign prohibits vehicles exceeding 5 tonnes (laden weight) from entering the road. It’s used to protect roads, bridges, or areas not designed to handle heavy loads.

This sign indicates the maximum speed limit is 50 kilometers per hour. Drivers must not exceed this speed. It's used in areas where lower speeds are necessary for safety — such as residential zones, towns, or near schools.

This sign specifically prohibits large vehicles such as trucks, buses, and lorries from overtaking other vehicles on that stretch of road. It's used where overtaking by heavy vehicles could be dangerous, like on steep hills, narrow roads, or bends. Smaller vehicles may still be allowed to overtake unless another restriction applies.

The No Entry for Pedestrians sign means that pedestrians are not allowed beyond this point. It’s commonly placed in areas like motorways, construction zones, or other hazardous areas where walking would be unsafe.

The "Stop Customs" sign tells drivers to stop for customs control, usually at borders or ports. It's used to regulate goods and travelers entering a country.

The No Entry for Cyclists sign means bicycles are not allowed beyond this point. It is typically placed in areas where cycling could pose a risk to safety or disrupt traffic flow. Cyclists must take an alternative route.

Warns that vehicles pulling trailers are not allowed to enter the road ahead. Only vehicles without trailers may proceed. This is common in areas where trailers could cause traffic issues, safety concerns, or damage to the road infrastructure.

This road sign restricts entry to vehicles whose total weight exceeds 2 tonnes. It's typically used to protect light bridges or narrow roads from damage caused by heavier vehicles.

This sign prohibits all motorized and non-motorized vehicles from entering beyond this point. It's often used at one-way streets (wrong direction), restricted zones, or closed roads, ensuring total restriction to traffic for safety or regulation purposes.

The No Entry for Animal-Drawn Vehicles sign is used to prohibit carts, carriages, or any vehicles pulled by animals from entering the road beyond this sign. It ensures safety and smooth traffic flow, especially on roads not suitable for such slow-moving transport.

The No Entry for Motorcycles sign means motorcycles are not allowed beyond this point. It’s used to restrict two-wheeled motor vehicles for safety or noise-control reasons in certain areas.

The No Entry sign indicates that no vehicles are permitted to enter the road from this direction. It is typically placed at the exit of one-way streets to prevent vehicles from entering against the flow of traffic. Ignoring this sign can lead to serious accidents or traffic violations.

The No Horn sign indicates that drivers should not use their horn in the area, often because it's a silent zone like near hospitals or schools.

This sign warns drivers that vehicles wider than 2 metres are not allowed to enter. It's usually placed before narrow roads, bridges, or tunnels to prevent blockage or accidents.

This sign means you must not make a U-turn at this location. It is commonly placed at intersections, highways, or curves where turning around would be unsafe or disruptive to traffic flow.

The No Entry for Buses sign indicates that buses are prohibited from entering the road beyond this point. It’s often used on narrow or residential roads where large vehicles could cause congestion or pose a danger.

This sign means vehicles transporting flammable, explosive, or otherwise dangerous materials are not allowed beyond this point. It's commonly placed near tunnels, residential areas, or environmentally sensitive zones where such cargo poses higher risk.

This sign indicates that parking is not allowed at any time in the area where the sign is placed. However, temporary stopping is allowed, such as dropping off or picking up passengers — as long as the driver stays with the vehicle. It helps keep traffic flowing and ensures visibility and access on busy or narrow roads.

This sign restricts goods vehicles longer than 10 metres from entering the road ahead. It's used in areas with tight bends, narrow roads, or weight/length restrictions, where long vehicles could pose a hazard or block traffic flow.

The No Right Turn sign indicates that drivers are not permitted to make a right turn at the junction ahead. It is typically placed in locations where right turns may pose a safety risk or disrupt the smooth flow of traffic.

This sign prohibits goods vehicles, such as lorries and vans transporting cargo, from entering the road ahead. It’s typically placed in residential areas, city centers, or roads with structural limits, helping reduce noise, traffic, or potential damage.

The No Left Turn sign indicates that drivers are prohibited from making a left turn at the junction ahead. It is usually placed where turning left could be dangerous or disruptive to the flow of traffic, such as at busy intersections or narrow roads.
